Languages with College... agh

Being a passionate language learner while being a full-time college student is not an ideal combination. In some views, sure, you can double or triple minor in languages, go on study abroad trips to solidify that "advanced" skillset on your resume, and meet students from the country of the languages you want to learn (yes, even in Covid times)

However, if you know HOW to learn languages, and don't necessarily need a professor, then spending time and money on a degree that includes a lot of fluffy information irrelevant to linguistics can be annoying & eerie.

Unfortunately, most big, dreamy jobs (not including blogging, of course) require a college degree. So, to put another perspective on this, think of these four years as a time set aside for you to learn as much as humanly possible, without the necessity and responsibility to be a full time adult, yet. Get that triple language minor, meet those international students, apply for the study abroad programs (Covid permitting), and utilize the resources that college campuses offer students to squeeze as much knowledge and experience from your four years as you possibly can, before you peace out and explore the world.
